How You Can Help

We urge the St. Joseph County Council to address the issue of industrial solar energy facilities and improper zoning rules in our community. Our neighbors believe that a more thorough examination of the potential risks and benefits, both immediate and long-term, is necessary. Matters such as economic and resource considerations, farmland preservation, community well-being, wildlife impacts, tax implications, greater insurance requirements, property values, fire safety, the inability to transfer land into other uses and many other concerns, all require a more in-depth analysis. We request that our county officials and staff use all resources at their disposal to make sure that all future actions are thoroughly reviewed and determined to be beneficial for all members of the community. Protect our wildlife, our natural habitats, our homes and way of life.

2. We need money to pay the attorney. Please consider donating for this cause. Check out our donations page!

3. Contact us for a yard sign!

4. We need you to sign up below so we can readily get a hold of you when we need you to take a stand with us!

5. Spread the word by email, text, social media and networking among friends and family. Tell them how we need them to call and email our council and area planning as well!

6. Contact your State Representatives about IC 36-7-4-1109. This is the code that Hexagon and other corporations are using to be "grandfathered in" under bad ordinances. This takes away the power of our community to remedy the harm that is being done.

7. Contact your AG office to file a complaint if you believe that a law has been broken or that there is abusive practice taking place or that there is corruption. Can't sell your house or did the realtor or homeowner fail to disclose this project to you when you purchased your home? Is there another way this has wronged or harmed you that is not mentioned? Reach out to the Attorney General with why. Be specific, clear and stay away from emotion.

8. Needing to reach out to your County Council or Commissioners?

9. Contact your neighbors and educate them about what is going on! We know several of you have already reached out and said your name is listed in Hexagon's application on their map and you have told them repeatedly you are not interested. Below is a flyer of what to do when they show up to your door.
